the good the bad and the not so much. for a long time there were few shows on TV that didn't deal with the paranormal and fewer shows on tv that showed what was involved in investigating a location. the onlyh time such shows were on were around Halloween. Now there are several investigation shows on the air year round.
When you have a crew investigating a location, you want to have the least amount of chances to contaminate eveidance as possible. when you have a camera crew following you around, like with Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International, that is the case. A camera crew working for the SyFi channel follows TAPS around the location. Also with TAPS, there is controversy going on. Several people who were core members are no longer with TAPS due to one reason or another. With TAPS and both frnchises of Ghost Hunters its more like the drama between members rather than the evidence or location. Also people have come forward and made comments that eveidence was staged or corrupted.
What I didn't like with the leadership of TAPS was that all eyewitness accounts can be explained away. They go in with the ghosts are not ghosts but people's imagination getting the best of them.
There are shows out there are actually good. A show like Destination Truth is a bit differant because the camera and sound people are part of the investigative crew and not a separate entity, no pun intended. Sometimes they get eveidence, soemtimes not. I think Josh Gates (the host of Destination Truth) said once that sometimes you win sometimes you loose.
Another show that is good,Ghost Adventures. The guys are the camera crew and investigators in very studly packaging! Almost every location they have gone to they got evidence. They don't take themselves seriously. When they get evidence, they take that to someone who in the know about such things.
